Serenade is inspired by the one act play, Stars Over Yonkers, based on Ruppert’s wife’s shenanigans. Taking place in present day Pittsburgh and London, it is a classic story of girl meets cat, girl saves cat, girl falls in love with cat’s owner. However, fate steps in and separates the would-be couple, Tess and Terence. As a world stands between them, Tess fights against fate, with a little help from some zany nuns and an (in)famous cornhole tournament, to try to find her soulmate on Christmas Eve.
